Beer, wine, and spirits are sold in the U.S. through multi-level distribution – by law. And it’s challenging to manage the ongoing pricing collection task. There are hundreds of distributors scattered across the country; they sell and deliver to your favorite retailer. Generally, grocers and other retailers look to the manufacturers to assist their distributors in collecting and reporting their pricing. Digitalrep’s is a public-facing web application that enables distributors to easily and efficiently enter forward-looking pricing for their customers.

Real World

Suppliers struggled to assist their distributors, numbering more than 1,000, with monthly pricing submittals via ExcelTM worksheets. There was little uniformity of data, the frequency of updates was insufficient, and the task of “rolling up” spreadsheets from so many businesses across the country was daunting.

Digitalrep built, a public-facing web application that enables distributors to login, see the items authorized for purchase, and then submit their pricing efficiently. The system aggregates pricing by supplier, and securely transmits pricing on all items for each location and every distributor – in the desired format.

The result is significantly improved accuracy and timeliness for suppliers and fewer pricing discrepancies when distributors deliver – which was the most significant issue for the supply chain.
